Balloon Race and Barbeque at Avenues House
Get down to Avenue House - on Sunday 15th March 2009 at 3pm, they will be having a balloon race. They want to release at least 150 balloons, each balloon will cost £3 and the prizes will be 1st £25, 2nd £15 and 3rd £10. Prizes to those who return the winning labels. For more information call 020 8346 7812. The barbeque will start at approx 1pm weather permitting.
Avenue House is an imposing Grade II listed mid Victorian mansion with extensive grounds landscaped by Robert Marnock. These contain a unique collection of trees forming an attractive backdrop to the House. Avenue House is also home to The Stephens Collection, a museum that acknowledges the debt owed by the people of Finchley to Henry Charles Stephens and the Stephens Ink Company.
It's a lovely spot and well worth a visit, especially with Spring in the air ..
