Made in East Finchley " A creative writing group perform readings based on local history. "Love and War in Finchley, is a collection of quirky pieces inspired by a rummage through the archives kept at Barnet Local Studies Centre. A nurse at the Finchley Memorial hospital looks back over her life at the time of World War 1; a local lad recruited as code breaker exchanges letters with his sweetheart, and a glimpse of life behind the lace curtains in Hampstead Garden Suburb. The readings are spiced with snippets of local fact and fiction.
A clutch of talented writers and actors share their creative work, perhaps at the same time enlightening you a little about your local roots. Join us at East Finchley Library, 226 High Road, Finchley, London, N2 9BB
