Hornsey school launch exhibition
St Mary’s CE Junior school in Hornsey has just launched an exhibition called ‘the London Experience’.
All the children worked on the project and they were between the ages of seven and 11.
The children thoroughly researched the exhibition and put together models of well know London landmarks like Big Ben, and the Globe. The whole exhibition has been divided into 5 sections: 1) ‘A Journey Through the Blitz’, 2) Buckingham Palace, 3) The history of London Zoo, 4) A voyage through the landmarks of London and 5) Religious building blocks of London.
For each section the children collected lots of information. In the blitz section they presented a lot of information about the war. In the London Zoo section, they had information about the reptile house, and 100 facts about crocodiles.
Following her visit to the school and the exhibition, Lynne Featherstone MP comments: “This is the most wonderful exhibition ever by a Primary School. “I was gobsmacked and awestruck by the scope of the project, by the brilliance of the artwork, the depth of the collection and all the information presented.
“This exhibition is completely brilliant and I bet all the children have learnt a massive amount, and that this experience will be embedded in their minds forever. “Well done to all the children and teachers at St Mary’s”
